Michelin Guide Taiwan today named 126 eateries in Taipei, Taichung, Tainan and Kaohsiung for the Bib Gourmand Award, down from 139 last year.
The Bib Gourmand Award was created to recognize restaurants that offer a quality three-course meal costing NT$1,000 or less.
Of the 126 eateries, 43 are in Taipei, 27 are in Taichung, 31 are in Tainan and 25 are in Kaohsiung.

There are 16 new entrants this year: six in Taipei, two in Taichung, three in Tainan and five in Kaohsiung.
More than half of the newly awarded eateries serve local Taiwanese cuisine.

A Japan Self-Defense Forces vessel entered the Taiwan Strait yesterday, Japanese media reported. After passing through the Taiwan Strait, the Ikazuchi was to proceed to the South China Sea to take part in a joint military exercise with the US and the Philippines, the reports said.
