Average temperatures last month were 2.4°C higher than average for the same period, and the highest ever recorded for the month of April, Central Weather Administration (CWA) data showed.
April on average sees temperatures of 23.3°C, compared with 25.7°C recorded last month, the CWA said in a post on Facebook on Thursday.
It marked the highest average since at least 1951.

There were 18 more hours of daylight than average, at 140.3 to 122.3 hours, the agency said.
However, the month also saw more rainfall than usual, up more than 20 percent from the climate average of 99.2mm to 122.9mm, it said.
Every region saw an average or above average amount of rainfall, except for Yilan and Hualien counties and Orchid Island (Lanyu, 蘭嶼), it said.
Despite the increase, rainfall amounts were still a far cry from the highest for April recorded in 1990, which saw 340.4mm of rain, or the lowest in 2002, when only 27mm fell.
