TikTok has taken down more than half of the videos suspected by the Central Election Commission (CEC) to be misinformation related to elections, the commission said on Monday.
The commission on Thursday last week said it had set up a formal communication channel with TikTok to report objectionable content.
As of Monday, the CEC said it had reported 105 videos to the platform, 10 of which it reported before the elections on Jan. 13.

TikTok has so far removed 54 of the videos and is continuing to investigate the remaining 51, the CEC said.
Under election law, the government has the right to request a platform to take down any deepfake videos about a candidate.
Major platforms have also reached out to the CEC to establish channels of communication to combat misinformation about the election process, the commission said without specifying which platforms.
