The founder of Taichung-based meal-delivery company Haoshigou (好食購公司) is suspected to have committed suicide over a wage dispute, after he went missing a few days ago, local media reported Thursday.
Haoshigou founder Chen Yan-yu (陳彥羽) did not show up for work since Monday, and his cellphone has been turned off, the Central News Agency (CNA) reported.

The Taichung City Police Department said it received a report on Tuesday from Chen’s family saying he was missing.
The Taichung City Labor Affairs Bureau on Wednesday said it had received complaints from nine of the company’s 18 employees saying they had not been paid their June and July salaries. The company had also told the bureau on Tuesday that it had terminated the contracts of all 18 employees, effective July 21, the bureau said.
The bureau said it would assist the employees in settling their wage disputes.
Those who are contemplating suicide, or know anyone who is, are advised to call the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s suicide prevention hotline at 1925, the minstry said, adding that other hotlines can be reached by dialing 1995 or 1980.
