In every presidential election they have donated generously and organized groups to return to Taiwan to campaign for their favorite candidates.
Lee, who served as former deputy representative to the US, has visited San Francisco several times.
He is expected to attend the DPP solidarity alliance ceremony. He is also scheduled to join Tsai Ming-hsien, current deputy ROC representative to the US, to speak on the topics of the presidential election and Taiwan-US relations at a summer camp for Taiwanese on the US west coast.
DPP sources in San Francisco confirmed that a group of some 200 people will be organized to return to Taiwan to campaign for Chen during the presidential election next year.

EVA Airways today confirmed the death of a flight attendant on Saturday upon their return to Taiwan and said an internal investigation has been launched, as criticism mounted over a social media post accusing the airline of failing to offer sufficient employee protections. The Taichung District Court yesterday confirmed its final ruling that the marriage between teenage heir Lai (賴) and a man surnamed Hsia (夏) was legally invalid, preventing Hsia from inheriting Lai’s NT$500 million (US$16.37 million) estate.
