CTBC Brothers shortstop Chiang Kun-yu made CPBL history by winning his sixth consecutive Golden Glove award — the first infielder in the league to achieve the feat.
Chiang committed only five errors in 484 fielding opportunities over 112 games this season, earning a perfect score of 230 points in the voting, the league said in statement on Thursday.
The 2018 11th overall draft pick surpassed his teammate Wang Wei-chen, who had dominated the Golden Glove at third base for five straight seasons from 2019 to 2023.

Before Chiang, only two outfielders had ever won six consecutive Golden Glove awards — Huang Kan-lin from 1999 to 2004 and Liu Fu-hao from 2006 to 2011, both for the Uni-President 7-Eleven Lions.
Chiang’s next milestone will be to match the CPBL record for the most Golden Glove awards overall: nine, held by his former teammate Haro Ngayaw.
In addition to Chiang, “Captain Taiwan” Chen Chieh-hsien of the Lions also captured his fourth straight Golden Glove in the outfield.

Chiang was among four players who were selected for both the Golden Glove and the CPBL 2025 All-Pro Team (known as the “Best Nine”). The others were his teammate Hsu Chi-hung at first base, Wei Chuan Dragons second baseman Li Kai-wei and TSG Hawks third baseman Wu Nien-ting.
The Fubon Guardians were the only team without a player winning either award.
Award recipients are to receive their trophies at a ceremony at the Kaohsiung Marriott Hotel on Wednesday, during which the league is to announce the Most Valuable Player (MVP), Rookie of the Year and Most Improved Player for this season’s regular season.
The MVP finalists are Uni-Lions slugger Lin An-ko, Brothers ace pitcher Nivaldo Rodriguez and Rakuten Monkeys ace pitcher Pedro Fernandez, the Taiwan Series MVP.
None of them has previously won the award for the regular season.

Retired defender Jerome Boateng on Saturday pulled out of a planned coaching internship at Bayern Munich after fans voiced their objection due to the FIFA 2014 World Cup winner being found guilty of assaulting a former girlfriend last year. The former Bayern and Germany defender, who played for the club between 2011 and 2021, had discussed a short internship with coach Vincent Kompany. “Following the recent discussion regarding myself, I have decided to focus on my issues such as the A training license.... That is where my focus is,” he said in a social media post addressed to Bayern and
