The incoming president attended a press conference called by the Makoto Bank (誠泰銀行) to introduce the "Son of Taiwan Card (台灣之子卡)". Chen later used the card to purchase children's publications.
Officials from the bank said the President-elect enjoys overwhelming popularity among the younger generation and that is why the bank decided to issue the new card.
According to an agreement between the two parties, the bank will donate 0.275 percent of the money used by cardholders to a fund for underprivileged students, which will be managed by the Humanistic Education Foundation (
