Keelung City bus driver Liao Wen-yang’s 21-year-old son, Liao Che-wei, married his classmate Ho Pei-chieh on April 30, for which the Keelung City Bus Management Office specially arranged two buses as their wedding “limousines” for the Liao family to welcome the bride to the bridegroom’s house. The bridegroom said he is very interested in driving buses and does not preclude the possibility of inheriting his father’s line of work in the future.
The couple are both third-year students at the Ching Kuo Department of Sports, Health and Leisure and started dating when they were freshmen. The bridegroom says he has ridden on buses to and from school since he was a kid and has also ridden his father’s bus several times, which got him interested in driving buses and led him to decide to make the wedding an unforgettable memory by welcoming the bride to his home on a bus.
The Liao family departed from home in the afternoon and arrived at the bride’s house in half an hour. Then they followed the traditional ritual by welcoming Ho onto the bus. the LED destination signs on the buses specially displayed the couple’s names as well as the words: “Wedding Express.” Intrigued by what they saw, bystanders on the road stopped walking and looked curiously at the buses. Some members of the public, who were waiting for the bus, on seeing these buses approach, ran to catch them, only to discover that they were wedding limousines.

Ho said with a smiling face, knowing that Liao intended to use buses as their wedding limousines made her feel very unique. She said she was very glad that people could witness their love in this fashion.
Keelung City Bus Management Office operating director Hou Chen-tai said they have never rented out buses to the public in the past. The buses are usually rented out when government officials need to ride buses to inspect something somewhere or for school students to travel to and from schools. Ho says, since it was one of their own staff who wanted to rent the buses, and using buses as wedding limousines would be for a good cause, they approved Liao’s application. If it proves to be a success, they will consider customizing and renting out buses for private use in the future. (Liberty Times, translated by Ethan Zhan)

Generations are defined by shared cultural, social and historical experiences within a specific time frame. These experiences, often influenced by significant events and technological advancements, shape the values, attitudes and behaviors of each generation. The concept of generations helps us understand how different age groups interact with their environment and contribute to societal changes over time. The previous generational transition from Gen
