Visitors to an Alaska winter festival will get the chance to run shoulder-to-shoulder with reindeer.
For the first Running of the Reindeer, about a dozen reindeer will be set loose on Feb. 24 in downtown Anchorage. They will be joined by people who will pay $20 (NT$650) to run along.
"I think we'll have to turn people away," said Bob Lester, a local radio host who came up the idea.

Officials at the festival, called the Fur Rendezvous, are limiting entrants to 500 men and 500 women. The men and women will run with the reindeer separately. So far, about 40 people have signed up.
Tom Williams, who owns the reindeer, is worried that the reindeer will just be docile.
"I'm afraid the deer are just going to stand there. It may be a very slow walk, with the animals sticking their noses in people's pockets, looking for something to eat," Williams said.(STAFF WRITER WITH AP)
Chinese startup DeepSeek’s launch of its latest AI models, which it says are on a par or better than industry-leading models in the US at a fraction of the cost, is threatening to upset the technology world order. DeepSeek’s AI Assistant, powered by DeepSeek-V3, has overtaken rival ChatGPT to become the top-rated free application available on Apple’s App Store in the US. This has raised doubts about the reasoning
