Catcher Technologies Co (可成科技), which supplies metal casings for Apple Inc’s iPhones, on Saturday reported record sales for last month at NT$8.34 billion (US$254 million) on a consolidated basis.
The figure rose 1.4 percent from a month earlier and was up 50.3 percent from a year earlier. It was the second consecutive month in which Catcher’s sales topped NT$8 billion.
Analysts attributed the sustained success to big casing orders from Apple for its 4.7-inch iPhone 6S and 5.5-inch iPhone 6S Plus, which were launched in September.
They said Catcher also benefited from the introduction of new notebook computers by global PC brands in the fourth quarter to capitalize on the Christmas shopping season.
In the first 11 months of the year, Catcher’s consolidated sales totaled NT$75.5 billion, up 53.4 percent from the same period last year.
At an investors’ conference held last month, Catcher chairman Allen Hung (洪水樹) said the company would see “very visible” sales growth in the fourth quarter.
