Chinese premier declares visit to Japan a `success'

"We are checking facts with the notion that until the demarcation line has been finalized, the area is being contested," Chief Cabinet Secretary Yasuhisa Shiozaki said.

At the same time, both sides have concluded that better ties are in their best interests, particularly for economic reasons.

China is Japan's No. 1 trading partner, and is eager to boost Japanese technological assistance and investment in its economy.
