Exports from the park totaled NT$24.56 billion (US$701.71 million) in March, up 38 percent from the previous month, the highest mark in nearly 11 months, the statistics showed.
Imports to the park totaled MT$29.57 billion, surging 140 percent from the previous month, also setting a new high for nearly 15 months.
The park added a record 51 high-tech manufacturers last year. The park has added 16 manufacturers so far this year, or the same as last year, mainly in IC design.
Staff at the park has continued to grow, and as of the end of March, there are 314 high-tech manufacturers in the park, employing 96,542. All of the figures have shown that the park has begun to recover from the recent economic slump.
Statistics also showed that cross-strait trade has shown an increase, with Hong Kong and China becoming the first- and fifth-largest export destinations in the park in the first quarter.
Exports from the park to Hong Kong and China totaled NT$16.41 billion (US$468.85 million) in the first three months, accounting for 26.6 percent of total exports.
Statistics showed that from January to March, the five-largest export destinations are Hong Kong, NT$12.16 billion; the US NT$9.56 billion; South Korea, NT$4.32 billion; and China, NT$4.25 billion.
