A police officer is under investigation by the Shilin District Prosecutors’ Office on suspicion of having sex with a 15-year-old girl under his investigation and counseling.
Taipei City Police Department’s Shilin District (士林) said the police officer, surnamed Wu (吳), was removed from his post and banned from carrying a firearm.
Police said the girl, who had been arrested several times for using drugs, used to stay at the Tucheng Juvenile Detention House.
The girl had told detention authorities that she had been raped by a drug dealer, and the center reported the case to Shilin District for investigation. Wu was put in charge of the case and also acted as a counselor to the girl.
Police said that after the girl was released from the detention center, Wu often contacted her.
They said a court subsequently ordered that the girl be detained at the Changhua Detention Center for continuing to use illegal narcotics, but counselors at the detention center said they found the girl detailed in her diary the time, dates, places and the process by which she engaged in sexual acts with Wu.
The center reported the case to the Taipei City Police Department.
Police said Wu had denied the accusations, saying the girl’s diary entries were purely her “illusions.”
