The Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) said yesterday that it was proposing to establish a Business Passengers Service Center at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport that would provide VIP services to fee-paying passengers.
Such services would allow business travelers to pass through customs and immigration faster than ordinary travelers.
The CAA currently follows the regulations governing courtesies granted to VIPs, such as diplomats, when allowing people to quickly pass through customs.
It said it was in the process of collecting information on similar facilities that exist in other countries, adding that the Business Passengers Service Center could be situated close to Gate D1 of the airport’s second terminal.
“The Taoyuan International Aviation Office is now working out the details with the government agencies in charge of customs, immigration, quarantine and security services at the airport,” the CAA said.
