Seven people have been arrested on drugs charges at the annual Spring Scream music festival in Kenting, Pingtung police said yesterday.
Four men and three women were arrested on Saturday in a room at the Fullon Hotel in Kenting for possession of ketamine, the police said, adding that the seven all admitted to drug use.
The seven will be charged with violation of the Narcotics Endangerment Prevention Act (毒品危害防制條例), the police said.

One of the nation’s most popular and longest-running music festivals, the festival started on Friday and will run through today.
Pingtung police officers said they used a number of drug-detecting dogs to search various concert venues and hotels around Kenting.
Checkpoints on various roads leading to music parties were also set up starting on Saturday.
Spring Scream, which began with two stages for performances by 30 bands in 1995, has grown into a six-stage show hosting 200 local and foreign bands this year, said Wade Davis and Jimi Moe, the two US expatriates who co-founded the festival.
The event has been described as a key cradle for musicians, as several local bands including Mayday (五月天) and The Chairman (董事長樂團), and singers such as Cheer Chen (陳綺貞) and Sandee Chan (陳珊妮) gained prominence through their performances at the festival.
Moe said the bands and singers at Spring Scream showcase jazz, rock and roll, blues, hip-hop and folk music.

Snow this morning fell on Alishan for the first time in seven years, as a strong continental cold air mass sent temperatures plunging across Taiwan, the Central Weather Administration (CWA) said. The Alishan weather station, located at an elevation of about 2,200m in central Taiwan, recorded snowfall from 8:55am to 9:15am, when the temperature dropped to about 1°C, the CWA said. With increased moisture and low temperatures in the high-altitude Alishan area, the conditions were favorable for snow, CWA forecaster Tsai Yi-chi (蔡伊其) said. The last time snow fell at the Alishan weather station was on Jan. 10, 2018, while graupel fell there
