Decoding program makes calculating 100 times faster

Researchers at I-Shou University have developed the world's fastest 3C decoding program, with a maximum calculating capacity 100 times faster than that of the existing ones, the Kaohsiung County-based university announced yesterday.

The program is a collaborative creation between Professor Chang Yao-tsu (張耀祖) and two candidates for doctoral degrees at the Institute of Information Engineering, university officials said.

The team has already integrated the programs into computer chips that can be utilized in satellite communications, mobile communications, digital audio-visual players and digital storage.
