    Fishing boat capsizes
A Taiwanese fishing boat capsized after being rammed by an unknown vessel east of Hong Kong's Waglan Island early yesterday, with all five crew members being rescued, the Hong Kong Government Flying Services reported. After receiving an SOS message, the Hong Kong Government Flying Services dispatched an AS332L2 Super Puma helicopter and a Jetstream-41 aircraft to rescue to boat's crew. All five crew members of the fishing boat were safely airlifted from their life rafts. The five crew members were then rushed to the Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital for treatment.

    Taipei seeks pig photos
To celebrate the upcoming Year of the Pig, the Taipei City Department of Information has launched a program encouraging the public to submit original greeting cards and photography relating to the Lunar New Year. People who submit their works to the department between Jan. 22 and Feb. 15 will receive free gifts, including Chinese couplet banners and red envelopes. According to the department, greeting cards should be the size of a standard postcard. All entries must include a 100-word caption in Chinese and a brief translation in English. Participants must also include contact information, the department said, adding that all entries are non-returnable and selected entries will be posted on the city government's English Web site. Details are available either by calling (02) 2728-7562 or visiting the Taipei City Government's Web site at english.taipei.gov.tw/TCG/index.jsp
