Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) lawmakers yesterday criticized the Chinese government for failing to keep a promise made on Oct. 23 to the Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) that it would purchase 2,000 tonnes of bananas from Taiwan to help resolve the current glut. "Only 75 tonnes of bananas have been exported to China since the promise was made," DPP legislators Wu Ming-ming (吳明敏) and Lin Yun-sheng (林耘生) told a press conference.
