Taiwan Quick Take: Help for single moms

The Ministry of the Interior (MOI) announced on Friday that it will be accepting applications until the end of this month from single mothers seeking financial assistance to study at vocational schools this semester. The assistance is part of the ministry's plan to help single mothers develop marketable skills and become self-sufficient. Applicants enrolled at technical schools are eligible for NT$10,000 per semester for tuition, with additional funds of up to NT$2,400 per month provided for childcare.
