The Ministry of Education showcased a variety of remote-controlled robots designed and constructed by polytechnic students nationwide yesterday in a press conference titled "Explore Yunlin." The robots will compete in an inter-university competition at National Yunlin University of Science and Technology this weekend, according to a ministry press release. The contest will determine which robots are the most maneuverable and adept at performing certain practical tasks. The winners will then participate in the annual ROBOCON contest in Tokyo next month, the ministry said. Yesterday's robots all moved on wheels, and were funded by TDK Taiwan Corp, an electronics company.
