The Department of Health (DOH) has advised women to kick their smoking habit rather than buying expensive cosmetics. "Damage from cigarettes is the No. 1 killer of beauty," according to a department press release issued on Friday. According to a recent DOH study, younger people are smoking more than ever. Twenty-two percent of girls aged 13-15 and up to 36.3 percent of high-school students have tried cigarettes, the poll found. A third of non-smoking women are exposed to second-hand smoke, either at work or at home. The nicotine in cigarettes causes skin to age more rapidly, the DOH said.
