The Taipei City Government is inviting residents to celebrate Chinese Valentine's Day at the 2006 Taipei Dadaocheng Fireworks and Music Festival this Saturday. The festival will take place at Yanping Riverside Park (Dadaocheng Dock floodgates 3 through 5) from 5.30pm to 9.30pm. A fireworks show with more than 7,000 firecrackers is scheduled between 8.30pm and 9pm. The festival will also feature music from Puyuma folk singer Kimbo (胡德夫), pop group Cherry Boom and jazz band Ray Band. Due to limited parking space the Department of Transportation is encouraging the public to travel to the event by means of public transport and will provide two transfer bus routes from Taipei Main Station and Shuanglian MRT Station.
