Visiting Solomon Islands Minister of Foreign Relations John Patteson Oti yesterday praised Taiwan's measures to implement the "small three links" between Matsu and Kinmen and the Chinese ports of Xiamen and Mawei in Fujian Province. Speaking during his tour of several links facilities on Kinmen, Oti, who arrived in Taiwan on Friday for a six-day visit, said the measures were worthy of study by his country and Papua New Guinea in managing affairs in their border regions. Oti was accompanied on his tour by Chu Yu-feng (朱玉鳳), director of the protocol department. Oti called the measures enlightening. Oti and Minister of Foreign Affairs James Huang (黃志芳) are scheduled to sign an agreement today on promoting volunteer exchanges between the two countries.
