    STAFF WRITER, WITH CNA

Premier Su Tseng-chang (蘇貞昌) yesterday praised the Council of Labor Affairs' efforts to create more job opportunities and encouraged more women to join the workforce. The council recently hired 102 women and four men, aged 46 to 55, to provide training and assistance related to their previous line of work to people interested in rejoining the job market. The council said that the 106 newly hired employees will be assigned to local counties and cities from this month to the end of the year. Their main tasks will involve locating, talking to and recruiting jobless people who have trouble finding employment. They will also work with local warden offices and potential employers to organize job fairs and seminars.
