One Taiwanese tourist was missing and five were rescued after a boat accident at a tourist attraction near Manila yesterday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said last night. Ministry spokesman Michel Lu (呂慶龍) said that the country's representative office in the Philippines has sent two personnel to Taal Lake to offer assistance. The lake is 70km south of Manila. The Central News Agency reported last night that the missing tourist was 42-year-old Chang Pei-chun (張培春). Rescue efforts were underway but rescuers said they were not optimistic about finding Chang alive, the report said.
