Taiwan Quick Take: Police nab two suspects

Taichung police arrested two motorcyclists who allegedly robbed a woman of her purse at knifepoint yesterday. The two suspects, identified only by their last names -- Lin (林) and Chen (陳) -- were former junior high school classmates, according to the police. They added that Lin and Chen rammed a policeman with their motorcycle in an attempt to escape, but were arrested when the officer called for help from other officers, who overpowered the robbers. The suspects were turned over to the Taichung District Prosecutor's Office for further questioning, police said.
