Taiwan Quick Take: Dominican head coming

Dominican Republic President Leonel Fernandez Reyna will arrive in Taiwan tomorrow for a four-day visit at the invitation of the government, Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials said yesterday. He will be welcomed with full military honors at the plaza in front of the Presidential Office, the officials said. Fernandez will sign a joint communique with President Chen Shui-bian (³¯¤ô«ó), as well as host a ceremony to open a trade fair of Dominican goods, attend a presentation of trade and investment in the Dominican Republic and visit the Asian Vegetable Research and Development Center in Tainan County. Fernandez will also receive an honorary doctoral degree from Chinese Culture University in suburban Taipei, they said.
