Taiwan Quick Take: Sun touted as hepatitis cure

    Monday, Jun 19, 2006, Page 3

Half an hour of sunshine is more effective in curing fulminant hepatitis C than medicine, a doctor suggested yesterday. Pan Nian-tzung (ŧīŠĀŠv), a Taiwanese "natural-healing" specialist and consultant at the National Research Institute, said that sunshine can boost patients' immune system and help them recover from fulminant hepatitis C. "Fifteen minutes of sunshine at sunrise and sunset is the best because at this time, the sunshine is not too harsh on the eye and does not cause skin burns," he said.
