Taiwan Quick Take: Flying fish festival touted

The Taitung County Government yesterday announced a series of activities aimed at promoting this year's flying fish festival. For the first time, the county is cooperating with a travel agency to boost tourism to Orchid Island (蘭嶼) and Green Island (綠島) during the festival, making available two-day package tours to Orchid Island and three-day package tours covering both islands, according to Taitung Deputy County Commissioner Huang Fa-lou (黃發樓). The 10 people who invite the highest number of friends to join the promotion will get a free trip from Taitung to Taipei, Huang said.
