Two convicted criminals were found executed by gunshots to the head at short range in Wufeng (Ãú®p) township, Nantou County, on the side of a main road connecting the county with Taichung.
Their bodies were found under some trees by an Wufeng resident surnamed Chang around 5am yesterday.
Engine running
According to the police, Chang found the bodies of the men near a black Cefiro car, whose engine was still running.
One of the men had been shot twice in the head. The other had been shot three times in the head.
Both of the victims' pants had been unzipped, and blood was on the grass around them. Investigators found five cartridges on the grass.
According to the Sun Tai-kang (®]¤Ó±d), an officer supervising Wufeng Police Station, the victims have been identified as Chiou Chin-chu (ªôÀA¬W), 49, a Taichung resident previously convicted of attempted murder and trafficking, and Lin Ming-chao (ªL»Ê·Ó), 40.
Chiou's wife told police that her husband left home on Saturday to meet some friends and had not contacted her since.
Trafficking?
Police said the two victims may have been followed by their enemies and that more than four people were possibly involved in the killings. The murders may also be related to trafficking, they said.
Police said that both of the men had been in and out of prison several times. Chiou was discharged from prison in 2002, while Lin was released on parole on 2003.
