34 students taking part in Model UN

    CNA, NEW YORK

A total of 34 Taiwan students are taking part in the 2005 National Model United Nations (NMUN) Conference that opened at the UN headquarters Tuesday.

The students, led by Chiang Chia-hsiung (̏Žaļ¯), an associate professor at National Chengchi University, attended the opening ceremony of the 2005 NMUN Conference, marking the second time that Taiwan's college students have entered the UN building after the Republic of China lost its seat in the world body to China more than 30 years ago.

The NMUN Conference, the world's largest university-level simulation of the United Nations, is being held under the auspices of the National Collegiate Conference Association. Taiwan's students will take part in debate sessions.
