Jaromir Jagr scored his team-leading 14th goal as the Florida Panthers extended their franchise-record winning streak to 10 games with a 5-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday night.
Drew MacKenzie, Jonathan Huberdeau, Brandon Pirri and Corban Knight also scored for Atlantic Division-leading Florida in the opener of a season-high six-game road trip. Roberto Luongo made 31 saves to improve his career record against Buffalo to 18-7.
Ryan O’Reilly scored for the Sabres, who have lost five straight games in regulation and fell to 0-4-1 in their past five home games.
BLACKHAWKS 3, PENGUINS 2
In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Artemi Panarin beat Marc-Andre Fleury 3 minutes, 47 seconds into overtime to lift Chicago past Pittsburgh.
Panarin finished with two goals, including the winner off a feed from Patrick Kane as Chicago fended off resilient Pittsburgh, who rallied from a 2-0 deficit in the third period behind goals from Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang.
Jonathan Toews got his 14th goal of the season for Chicago. Kane finished with two assists to boost his point total to an NHL-best 59. Corey Crawford made 34 saves for the Blackhawks, who have won four straight.
Crosby scored his 12th of the season and sixth in six games to start Pittsburgh’s comeback. Letang added his fourth with a shot from the point with 2:50 to play to force overtime. Fleury stopped 27 shots in the first game of a home-and-home with the defending Stanley Cup champions.
CAPITALS 3, BRUINS 2
In Boston, Evgeny Kuznetsov had a goal and an assist as Washington beat Boston to end a season-high two-game skid.
Andre Burakovsky and Marcus Johansson also scored for the Capitals, who beat the Bruins for the fourth straight time and moved into the NHL lead with 61 points.
Braden Holtby faced only 14 shots through the first two periods and finished with 29 saves for Washington.
Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin had just two shots and remained at 496 career goals.
Patrice Bergeron had a goal and assist and Loui Eriksson also scored for Boston. Tuukka Rask made 26 saves.
RANGERS 6, STARS 2
In New York, Derek Stepan scored two goals and Ricky Nash had three assists to lead the Rangers past Western Conference-leading Dallas.
Jayson Megna had a goal and an assist, Kevin Klein had two assists and Keith Yandle, Derick Brassard and Viktor Stalberg added goals for the Rangers, who improved to 22-14-4. Henrik Lundqvist stopped 22 of 24 shots.
John Klingberg and Antoine Roussel scored for Dallas, who fell to 28-10-4. Antti Niemi made 23 saves.
The Stars lost their second straight in regulation and finished their three-game trip to the New York area 0-2-1 against New Jersey, the Islanders and Rangers while getting outscored 15-9.
WILD 4, BLUE JACKETS 2
In Columbus, Ohio, Zach Parise scored his fourth career hat-trick and second this season to lead Minnesota past last-placed Columbus.
Parise’s empty-net goal with 57 seconds left gave Minnesota a 3-1 lead. Nick Foligno cut the deficit to one 41 seconds later, a goal that was challenged by the Wild but upheld.
Mikael Granlund won the ensuing faceoff and scored into Columbus’ empty net again 2 seconds later. The two goals 2 seconds apart tied an NHL record.
Granlund also had two assists, as did Ryan Suter.
Wild forward Mikko Koivu went hard into the boards after a shove by David Savard and was taken to the hospital. There was no immediate update on his status.
Cam Atkinson scored for the Blue Jackets.

In Philadelphia, Brayden Schenn had a goal and two assists to help Philadelphia beat Montreal and snap a three-game losing streak.
Wayne Simmonds, Shayne Gostisbehere and Sean Couturier also scored for the Flyers.
Brendan Gallagher, Daniel Carr and Alex Galchenyuk netted goals for the Canadiens, who capped an eight-game road stretch 2-6.
