Paul Stastny scored twice — including the go-ahead goal in the third period — as the Blues rallied to overcome the New York Islanders 6-4 on Saturday, giving relief goaltender Martin Brodeur his first win in a St Louis uniform.
Stastny’s second goal of the game and fifth of the season 13 minutes, 26 seconds into the third period snapped a 4-all tie to give the Blues their first lead. St Louis fell behind 3-0 in the first, before replacing starter Jake Allen with Brodeur in the second.
Brodeur made 14 saves for career win No. 689 and his 52nd against the Islanders, the most the 42-year-old has made against any team. He stopped Brock Nelson and Anders Lee early in the third and was hardly tested from then.
PENGUINS 3, SENATORS 2
In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Evgeni Malkin scored twice and Christian Ehrhoff added the go-ahead goal with 1:50 remaining in the third period to give the Pittsburgh Penguins a win over Ottawa.
With the victory, the Penguins avoided losing consecutive games in regulation so far this season and lifted their record against Atlantic Division teams to 8-0-1.
David Legwand and Mike Zibanejad scored for the Senators.
The loss was the fifth in a row for the Senators, who are 1-6-1 in eight games.
FLYERS 2, KINGS 1
In Los Angeles, Steve Mason made 37 saves, as Philadelphia got goals from Claude Giroux and Wayne Simmonds to snap a six-game losing streak with a victory over the Kings.
The triumph was only the second in 12 games for the Flyers, who avoided tying their franchise record of 10 straight road losses.
Justin Williams scored for the Stanley Cup champions, while Jonathan Quick faced only 16 shots.
The Kings were scoreless on the power play against a penalty-killing unit who came in with a league-worst 74.4 success rate.

In Newark, New Jersey, Jay Beagle and Evgeny Kuznetsov scored 3:25 apart in the second period, as Braden Holtby stopped 33 shots to lead the Washington Capitals over the New Jersey Devils.
Karl Alzner and Brooks Laich also scored for Washington, who improved to 12-10-4. The Capitals have won two straight and three of their last five.
Patrik Elias scored and Cory Schneider had 25 saves in his 25th start in New Jersey’s 27 games this season. The Devils have lost eight of their last 10 and are 3-5-1 against Metropolitan Division teams.
New Jersey dropped to 3-4-3 at the Prudential Center, having played the fewest home games of any NHL team this season.

In Sunrise, Florida, Nick Bjugstad scored late in the second period and rookie Aaron Ekblad had three assists to lift Florida over Buffalo.
Tomas Kopecky and Brad Boyes also scored for the Panthers. Roberto Luongo made 26 saves.
Brian Gionta and Drew Stafford scored for Buffalo, while Michal Neuvirth stopped 34 shots.
The Panthers are 4-1-1 in their past five games and have won five in a row against Buffalo going back to last season.
