The Vancouver Canucks scored four power-play goals to beat the Boston Bruins 4-3 on Saturday in the first game between the teams since last year’s NHL Stanley Cup finals.
Ryan Kesler lifted the Canucks, who have the NHL’s best power play, to a 1-0 lead in the first period, but Brad Marchand and Rich Peverley responded for Boston. Alexander Burrows tied it in the second period and Henrik Sedin put the Canucks ahead at 19 minutes, 47 seconds.
Vancouver’s Cody Hodgson and Boston’s David Krejci scored in the first two minutes of the third period and the Canucks hung on to take a small measure of vengeance for losing the Stanley Cup despite having held a 3-2 lead.

FLYERS 3, SENATORS 2, OT
In Philadelphia, Danny Briere scored in overtime to complete his hat trick and lift Philadelphia over Ottawa.
The teams traded goals in the third period. Ottawa’s Bobby Butler had given the Senators a short-lived 2-1 lead, poking in a rebound before Briere scored his second of the game with a shot that deflected in off a defender’s stick.
Briere had given the Flyers the early lead before Ottawa tied it on a tap-in by Milan Michalek in the second period.
MAPLE LEAFS 4, RED WINGS 3
In Toronto, Joffrey Lupul scored the third-period winner to complete Toronto’s comeback from a three-goal deficit against Detroit.
With the game looking to have slipped out of control, Lupul grabbed a rare turnover from Henrik Zetterberg behind the net and lifted a shot over Detroit goalie Jimmy Howard.
It gave the Leafs their third straight victory during a key homestand and kept them climbing up the Eastern Conference standings.
Phil Kessel scored on a penalty shot and Dion Phaneuf and David Steckel added goals for Toronto.
Todd Bertuzzi, Niklas Kronwall and Jiri Hudler scored for Detroit.
FLAMES 3, WILD 1
In Calgary, Jarome Iginla scored his 500th career goal, leading the Flames to victory over Minnesota.
Lance Bouma got his first NHL goal and Curtis Glencross had his team-leading 17th of the season for the Flames.
Iginla sent the sold-out crowd at Scotiabank Saddledome into a frenzy with his milestone goal in the third period that gave the Flames a 2-0 lead. The Calgary captain came down the right wing and sent a pass in front that went off the skates of two Minnesota players and in past the Wild goalie.
Dany Heatley scored late for Minnesota.
JETS 2, SABRES 1, OT
In Buffalo, Johnny Oduya scored 57 seconds into overtime to lift Winnipeg over Buffalo.
Oduya fired a wrist shot from the left circle, beating Buffalo goalie Jhonas Enroth over his left shoulder.
The Sabres’ Ville Leino believed he scored the apparent go-ahead goal with 1 minute, 45 seconds remaining, but play had been whistled dead prior to Leino jabbing the puck away from the goalie and into the net.
Blake Wheeler also scored for the Jets.
STARS 4, OILERS 1
In Dallas, Jamie Benn scored twice, including the tiebreaker in the third period, as Dallas downed Edmonton.
Mike Ribeiro also had two goals, giving him four in two games, and rookie goalie Richard Bachman made 25 saves.
Jordan Eberle, Edmonton’s leading scorer with 17 goals and 43 points, sustained a knee injury in the opening period and did not return.
CANADIENS 3, LIGHTNING 1
In Montreal, Mike Blunden and Max Pacioretty scored in the second period to lift Montreal over Tampa Bay.
Carey Price made 23 saves and Erik Cole scored his 17th goal of the season on the power play with 17 seconds remaining.
Vincent Lecavalier scored early in the first for Tampa Bay, who lost their third straight in Canada.
Blunden scored his first NHL goal in 21 months to tie the score 5 minutes, 44 seconds into the second and Pacioretty 93 seconds later.
