Alex Rodriguez hit a milestone Grand Slam and drove in six runs, while C.C. Sabathia earned his first win of the season as the New York Yankees pounded the Baltimore Orioles 15-3 on Saturday.
Rodriguez connected with the bases loaded against Josh Rupe in a seven-run eighth inning. It was his 22nd career slam, pushing him past Manny Ramirez into second place on the career list behind only Lou Gehrig (23).

Russell Martin homered twice, while Jorge Posada and Brett Gardner also connected for the Yankees, who lead the majors with 35 home runs.
Sabathia (1-1) allowed three runs and six hits in eight innings, striking out seven and walking one.
Brad Bergesen (0-3) gave up six runs and eight hits in six innings.

In Anaheim, California, Daisuke Matsuzaka allowed one hit and struck out nine over eight innings as Boston won their fourth straight.
Matsuzaka (2-2) allowed only four base runners, none of which got past second. The only hit off the right-hander came with one out in the second — a line drive by Alberto Callaspo.
The Angels’ only other hit was an infield single by Erick Aybar against Daniel Bard leading off the ninth.
Ervin Santana (0-3) gave up five runs and nine hits in seven innings, raising his ERA to 5.51.
Kevin Youkilis homered for the Red Sox.
TIGERS 9, WHITE SOX 0
In Detroit, Michigan, Brad Penny pitched a no-hitter into the sixth inning, while Ryan Raburn drove in three runs to lead Detroit to their eighth straight win over Chicago.
Penny (1-2) allowed one hit and walked two in seven innings. His bid for a no-hitter was ended in the sixth when Brent Morel reached on a single after Miguel Cabrera couldn’t field a catch cleanly at first and missed the tag on Morel.
The official scorer called it a hit, not an error, which would have kept the no-hitter intact.
Penny started the game winless with a 8.44 ERA in his first season with the Tigers.
Edwin Jackson (2-2) gave up eight runs on 12 hits and four walks over 5-2/3 innings.

Jeff Baker hit a two-run double in the eighth inning as the Chicago Cubs got a banner day from the top of their lineup in a wild 10-8 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Starlin Castro, Darwin Barney and Marlon Byrd combined for nine hits, six RBIs and four runs as the Cubs roughed up Ted Lilly in his return to Chicago.
Castro tied a career high with four hits and Reed Johnson went 2 for 3 and scored twice.
The Dodgers scored seven unanswered runs to take an 8-5 lead, before Chicago responded with a five-run eighth.
Casey Blake, Matt Kemp and Rod Barajas homered for Los Angeles. Andre Ethier extended his MLB-best hitting streak to 20 games.
METS 6, DIAMONDBACKS 4
In New York, Jason Bay homered and drove in three runs, while Ike Davis went deep for the third straight game as the Mets held off Arizona for their third straight win.
Dillon Gee (2-0) went six innings and allowed two earned runs — an RBI triple by Stephen Drew and a solo homer by Miguel Montero that tied the game in the sixth.
Daniel Murphy hit the go-ahead single in the sixth inning, then followed with another RBI single in the eighth.
Barry Enright (0-2) allowed five runs and 12 hits in 5-2/3 innings. He’s allowed at least four runs in all four of his starts this season.

In San Francisco, Tim Hudson came within one out of his first complete game this year, while Martin Prado drove in Atlanta’s first three runs as the Braves got just their third series win of the season.
Hudson (3-2) allowed nine hits, struck out four and didn’t walk a batter in a 112-pitch outing.
Tim Lincecum (2-2) was tagged for five runs and six hits in 6-1/3 innings.
