Russian Dmitry Tursunov will find a familiar face waiting for him in the quarter-finals at the ATP Indianapolis Championships when he plays Frank Dancevic for the second time in six weeks.
Top seed Tursunov smoothly advanced into the last eight beating Brazilian Marcos Daniel 6-3, 6-3 while Dancevic put out German fifth seed Benjamin Becker 6-2, 7-5.
Tursunov and Dancevic are long-time rivals, with the Russian beating the Canadian for the Indy title two years ago as well as the grass-court Eastbourne final last month two days prior to the start of Wimbledon.
Qualifier Alex Bogomolov of the US beat second seed Dudi Sela of Israel 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) and American Wayne Odesnik recovered to beat number four seed Igor Kunitsyn 2-6, 6-1, 6-1.
American John Isner, who missed two months this spring with glandular fever, defeated number eight seed Denis Istomin 6-4, 6-4.
Frenchman Marc Gicquel maintained the status quo at the first event on the summer hard-court run to the US Open, as he beat a qualifier, Jesse Levine 6-2, 6-2.
Third-seeded Californian Sam Querrey extracted his revenge for a finals loss earlier this month against Rajeev Ram, beating the Indiana player 7-5, 6-3.
