CC Sabathia pitched a one-hitter in his latest dominating start, allowing only an infield single as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 7-0 in the National League on Sunday.
Sabathia (9-0) pitched the majors’ fourth one-hitter this season and couldn’t have come much closer to a no-hitter, with no Pirates batter coming close except for Andy LaRoche’s hit in the fifth inning.

Revelations of positive doping tests for nearly two dozen Chinese swimmers that went unpunished sparked an intense flurry of accusations and legal threats between the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the head of the US drug-fighting organization, who has long been one of WADA’s fiercest critics.
