NHL: Wild down Oilers to take top spot in Northwest Division

The Minnesota Wild took top spot in the NHL's Northwest Division with a 3-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday.
The Wild, who started a four-game homestand with a victory, moved a point above Calgary in the Northwest.
Minnesota started fast, scoring two goals on their first four shots to make things tough on Edmonton, who stayed last in the division but within three points of the last Western Conference playoff berth.
Avalanche 6, Canucks 3
In Denver, Milan Hejduk scored twice as Colorado downed Vancouver.
Peter Forsberg had three assists, including two in a four-goal spurt in the second period for the Avalanche.
The Avalanche moved out of tie for seventh with the Canucks in the tight Western Conference playoff race. Vancouver lost its third straight and was two points ahead of Nashville in the fight for the last playoff spot.
Ducks 2, Kings 1, SO
In Anaheim, California, the home team clinched a playoff berth with a shootout win over Los Angeles.
Mathieu Schneider and Teemu Selanne scored for the reigning Stanley Cup champions in the shootout.
Blue Jackets 4, Blackhawks 0
In Columbus, Ohio, Clay Wilson had a goal and his first assist in his second NHL game to lead Columbus over Chicago.
