NBA: Magic survive rally to defeat the Heat

Even a career-high 48 points by Dwyane Wade was not enough for Miami to beat Orlando Magic on Friday.
The Magic survived a late-game rally by the Heat to win 121-114 in overtime, giving coach Stan Van Gundy a victory in his return to south Florida.
Wade scored 20 points in the fourth quarter alone, but still Miami fell to 8-22.
Miami's Daequan Cook sent the game to overtime with a long three-pointer with 1.9 seconds left in regulation, then tied the game again on another three with 1 minute, 18 seconds left for Miami. But Hedo Turkoglu scored the next five points, sealing Orlando's seventh straight win in matches between the Florida rivals.
Trail Blazers 109, Timberwolves 98
In Portland, Oregon, Brandon Roy scored 22 points despite not playing the second quarter and Portland got their league-leading 12th straight victory by beating Minnesota.
The streak matches Portland's best run since winning 12 in a row during the 2001-2002 season, the team's second-longest stretch. Portland's longest streak was 16 games in the 1990-1991 season.
Minnesota have the league's worst record at 4-24. The Timberwolves fell to 1-14 on the road.
Lakers 123, Jazz 109
In Los Angeles, Phil Jackson pulled even with Red Auerbach in regular-season victories as the Los Angeles Lakers downed Utah.
The Lakers' triumph gave Jackson his 938th career win and a share of seventh place on the career list.
Jackson will get a chance to pass Auerbach when the Lakers host Boston on today.
Nuggets 124, Warriors 120
In Oakland, California, Allen Iverson scored 39 points, including a late jumper to break a tie, and Denver edged Golden State.
Carmelo Anthony added 30 points for the Nuggets.
The Warriors could not quite match the performance from Denver's dynamic duo and lost for only the second time in six games.
76ers 92, Kings 80
In Sacramento, California, Samuel Dalembert had 19 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks for Philadelphia, who pulled away in the fourth quarter to defeat Sacramento and record a third straight victory.
The 76ers scored seven straight points to build a seven-point lead early in the fourth quarter and never trailed again.
Nets 109, Wizards 106
In East Rutherford, New Jersey, Richard Jefferson had 26 points as New Jersey edged Washington.
Vince Carter added 24 and Jason Kidd just missed a triple-double as New Jersey earned only their fourth win in the past 14 home games.
Washington's Antawn Jamison had 27 points and 13 rebounds for his 20th double-double of the season and 200th of his career.
Hornets 99, Bobcats 85
In Charlotte, North Carolina, David West had 20 points and 10 rebounds and New Orleans turned in another dominating performance to down Charlotte.
Entering the game with the third-best record in the Western Conference, the Hornets posted their fourth straight blowout win by quickly putting away the Bobcats with alley-oop dunks, uncontested shots and energized defense.
Pistons 114, Pacers 101
In Auburn Hills, Michigan, Richard Hamilton had 23 points and nine assists and Detroit extended their winning streak to seven with victory over Indiana.
The Pistons have won 14 of 16, while Indiana have lost three of four.
Rockets 103, Grizzlies 83
In Memphis, Tennessee, Yao Ming had 22 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks and Houston downed Memphis despite Tracy McGrady sitting out with an injury.
Luis Scola scored 22 points for the Rockets.
The Grizzlies lost for the 11th time in the past 13 games.
Raptors 83, Spurs 73
In San Antonio, Texas, Jason Kapono scored 10 of his 15 points in the fourth quarter, and Toronto snapped a three-game losing streak by handing San Antonio only their second home loss of the season.
Bulls 103, Bucks 99
In Chicago, Ben Gordon scored 19 of his 31 points in the fourth quarter and the Chicago Bulls beat Milwaukee to give Jim Boylan a win on his debut as interim coach.
Boylan was promoted from his assistant's role on Thursday and replaced Scott Skiles, who was fired on Christmas Eve after the Bulls' horrendous start to the season.
Gordon had a big final quarter when he went 10-of-11 from the line.
Suns 94, Clippers 88
In Phoenix, Arizona, Amare Stoudemire scored 28 points on 12-of-15 shooting and Phoenix downed the Los Angeles Clippers and were victorious for the first time this season with less than 100 points.
The Suns had been 0-5 when scoring under 100.
