NHL: Devils beat Canadiens, extend winning streak to six

Zach Parise had his first three-goal game, Martin Brodeur made 27 saves for his 94th shutout and the New Jersey Devils extended their winning streak to six with a 4-0 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Friday night.

Parise had a goal in every period and assisted on Brian Gionta's power-play goal in the third to help the Devils beat the Canadiens for the ninth straight time.

Jay Pandolfo missed the game for the Devils because of a groin injury, ending his streak of consecutive NHL games at 307.

Penguins 4, Stars 1

In Pittsburgh, Sidney Crosby scored two goals and Marc-Andre Fleury made 22 saves in Pittsburgh's third straight victory.

Tyler Kennedy and Evgeni Malkin also scored and Colby Armstrong had two assists. The Penguins have scored 14 goals in their past three games and have at least a point in five of their past six games after a 1-6 stretch.

Mike Ribeiro scored for Dallas. The Stars have lost two in row after winning six straight.

In St. Paul, Minnesota, a Marian Gaborik wrist shot with 2 minutes, 39 seconds to play in overtime lifted Minnesota past St. Louis.

Gaborik corralled the puck about 2m inside the Minnesota zone, turned and saw nothing but open ice in front before he sped toward the goal. One of the fastest skaters in the NHL, Gaborik skated in on Manny Legace and beat him on the stick side.

Brian Rolston and Brent Burns also scored for the Wild, who have won three in a row for the first time since starting the season with five straight victories.

Hurricanes 4, Capitals 3

In Raleigh, North Carolina, Rod Brind'Amour scored twice and Cory Stillman and Matt Cullen added goals for Southeast Division-leading Carolina. Cam Ward made 32 saves for the victory.
