Giancarlo Maldonado scored two of Venezuela's three goals in the final eight minutes and rallied the Vinotinto to a 5-3 victory over Bolivia yesterday, their second win in four World Cup qualifying matches.
Alejandro Guerra equalized 3-3 in the 82nd, and Maldonado added goals in the 89th minute and injury time to give Venezuela six points.
Bolivia's Marcelo Martins scored in the 19th and 78th minutes as Bolivia took the lead three times.
Daniel Arismendi equalized immediately after Martins' first goal and again in the 40th, 13 minutes after Juan Carlos Arce put Bolivia ahead 2-1.
Striker Maldonado, who plays for Atlante in Mexico, gave Venezuela the lead for the first time in the 89th minute, heading over Arias.
