Birmingham City boss Steve Bruce insists he will not be forced into signing Chinese players by prospective new owner Carson Yeung.
Hong Kong-based Yeung owns a 29.9 percent stake in the Premiership club and is set to complete his ?50 million (US$101 million) takeover by the New Year and has talked of his dream of recruiting top Chinese stars to Birmingham.
"Anyone who knows me is aware I respect the people who employ me," Bruce told the Birmingham Mail. "You have to have a decent working relationship with your board and it's no secret I have had problems in that regard in the past during my career."
"It doesn't matter to me whether someone is English, Chinese, white, black, green or orange -- I can get on and work with anyone as long as we are together for the good of the club," he said.
"But as manager I won't be railroaded into anything. Players have to be the right sort, they have to be a certain quality and better than what we have already got," he said.
China midfielder and national team captain, Zheng Zhi, has already been linked with a move to the Midlands.
