A 16-year-old Taiwanese golfer won the Boys' Division of the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Tournament in the US at the end of last month, a spokesman for the Golf Association of the Republic of China said yesterday.
Yang Yao-chun (·¨Â`Â@) won with a three-under-par 73-70-70-213 during the three-day event at the Avia Golf and Country Club in Tampa Bay, Florida.
It was Yang's third outing at the AJGA since he arrived in the US 10 months ago. He defeated 62 rivals to emerge as the winner.
Yang returned to golf last September following a hiatus of three years.
He studied at the David Leadbetter Golf Academy.
