Second-seeded Tomas Berdych reached the semi-finals of the BMW Open by beating Nicolas Devilder of France 6-4, 6-0 on Friday for his 200th career win.
Two other seeded players, No. 4 Marcos Baghdatis and No. 3 Mikhail Youzhny, also advanced. The other semi-finalist is unseeded Philipp Kohlschreiber, who beat Sebastien Grosjean 6-4, 7-6 (5) and is trying to become the first German to win the clay-court event since Michael Stich in 1994.
Kohlschreiber faces Baghdatis, who ousted Alexander Waske 2-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4. Berdych will play Youzhny, who beat eighth-seeded Juergen Melzer 6-2, 7-6 (5).
The 23-year-old Kohlschreiber let a 4-1 second set lead slip away against Grosjean before winning the tiebreaker to reach his second career semi-final.
"I am incredibly happy because it happened in Germany," Kohlschreiber said. "I feel I am playing really well."
Grosjean had beaten top-seeded Tommy Haas of Germany in the second round.
