Carson Palmer threw two touchdown passes to T.J. Houshman-dzadeh less than a minute apart midway through the fourth quarter yesterday and the Cincinnati Bengals rallied for a stirring 28-20 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, recovering from an offseason motorcycle accident and an appendicitis, was ineffective, completing just 18 of 39 passes for 209 yards. Palmer had three fumbles and two interceptions but redeemed himself with four touchdown passes.

In Detroit, Brett Favre threw the 400th touchdown pass of his career, then added two more scores to lead Green Bay to its first win. With his first TD pass of the game Favre joined Hall of Famer Dan Marino as the only quarterbacks to reach 400 touchdown passes.

In Minneapolis, Bears quarterback Rex Grossman threw a 24-yard touchdown to Rashied Davis on the first play after the 2-minute warning and Chicago (3-0) remained unbeaten. Antoine Winfield returned one of Grossman's two interceptions for a fourth-quarter touchdown, but Grossman came through with his first career fourth-quarter scoring pass.

At Foxborough, Massachusetts, Jake Plummer threw touchdown passes of 83 and 32 yards to Javon Walker to lead Denver. But much of the credit goes to a Denver defense that shut down Tom Brady and a New England offense that was without several key weapons.

In Miami, a 50-yard drive set up a 39-yard field goal by Olindo Mare with 3:39 left to help Miami beat Tennessee 13-10 yesterday. The Dolphins improved to 1-2 and have scored only four touchdowns this season.
