No. 11 Michigan hammered second-ranked Notre Dame 47-21 on Saturday in US college football -- the most points scored against the Fighting Irish at home in 46 years.
Chad Henne threw three touchdown passes to Mario Manningham and the Wolverines intercepted Brady Quinn three times and shut down the rest of the Irish offense.
Prescott Burgess intercepted Quinn on the second play of the game to set the tone. The Wolverines were ahead 26-7 before the Irish got their initial first down.

The Wolverines (3-0) ended a two-game losing streak to Notre Dame (2-1) as well as a three-game slide at Notre Dame Stadium. The 47 points Michigan scored were second only to the 51 scored at Notre Dame by Purdue in 1960.
Henne finished 12-of 22 for 220 yards. Quinn, who has never had a big game against Michigan, was 24-of-28 for 234 yards with three interceptions and a lost fumble.
No. 3 Auburn 7, No. 6 LSU 3
At Auburn, Alabama, the Auburn Tigers survived another bruising showdown with LSU thanks to a stingy defense that wouldn't budge and a reversed call that went their way late in the game.
Eric Brock deflected a pass near the goal line to stop one late drive and then made a game-saving tackle on the final play to preserve the win for Auburn (3-0, 2-0).
With LSU (2-1, 0-1 SEC) facing fourth-and-8 from Auburn's 31 and 2:43 left, JaMarcus Russell fired the ball to Early Doucet near the goal line. A diving Brock deflected the pass, but Zach Gilbert was called for pass interference that would have kept the drive alive.
No. 4 USC 28, No. 19 Nebraska 10
At Los Angeles, USC made its national title intentions known for a fourth straight season with a victory over Nebraska.
USC (2-0) won for the 36th time in 37 games, the lone defeat coming to Texas in the final seconds of last January's Rose Bowl. The Trojans' home winning streak is now 28 straight games.
Making his second career start, John David Booty was 25-for-36 for 257 yards with no interceptions and three touchdown passes for USC in performance resembling that of departed Matt Leinart.

Florida's Urban Meyer's first trip to Neyland Stadium as a head coach was a success as he made it two straight against the Vols.
The No. 7 Gators (3-0, 1-0 Southeastern Conference) held on to the victory when Reggie Nelson got his second interception of the game after Tennessee went for it on fourth down at the Florida 45.
No. 1 Ohio State 37, Cincinnati 7
At Columbus, Ohio, Ohio State took awhile to get on track before Troy Smith and Ted Ginn Jr. hooked up on two touchdown passes to power the Buckeyes to victory.
The defense held the Bearcats (1-2) to a net of minus-4 yards on 22 attempts. The Buckeyes (3-0) had eight sacks for minus 59 yards.
Still, they didn't have a firm grip on the game until tailback Antonio Pittman raced 48 yards around left end for a score with 10 minutes remaining to push the lead to 27-7. Pittman finished with 155 yards on 16 carries.
No. 8 Texas 52, Rice 7
At Houston, Texas had no trouble rebounding from last week's loss to Ohio State as Colt McCoy and the Longhorns defeated overmatched Rice.
Texas (2-1) easily avoided losing two straight games for the first time since 1999 while Rice (0-3) has lost 19 of its last 20.
McCoy threw for 124 yards and two touchdowns and Selvin Young and Jamaal Charles both ran for more than 100 yards and scored a touchdown each.
No. 10 Georgia 34, UAB 0
At Athens, Georgia, Matthew Stafford scored his first touchdown in a winning debut as Georgia's starting quarterback and the Bulldogs put up their second straight shutout.
C.J. Byrd scooped up a blocked punt and returned it 12 yards to the end zone midway through the third quarter, which gave Georgia (3-0) a 20-point lead.
For the first time in almost 36 years, a Parisian derby will be played in French soccer’s top flight when reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain FC take on the nouveau riche Paris Football Club (PFC) today. Not one of the players involved in today’s match — PFC’s 38-year-old third-choice goalkeeper Remy Riou is almost certainly not going to be involved — was born the last time there was a Parisian derby in Ligue 1. That was on Feb. 25, 1990, when Moroccan midfielder Aziz Bouderbala scored a brace as Racing Paris 1 beat PSG 2-1 at the Parc des Princes home that

The Bucks trailed by as many as 16 on their home floor, but Antetokounmpo scored 12 of his 30 points in the final quarter to help seal the win in a frantic finish that saw five lead changes in the final 45.7 seconds. The two-time NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) added 10 rebounds and five assists. It was his 158th regular-season game with at least 30 points, 10 rebounds and
Stan Wawrinka’s 40-year-old legs did not let him down over three-plus hours in his first singles match of a farewell tour yesterday. Three-time Grand Slam singles champion Wawrinka beat Arthur Rinderknech of France, who is ranked 29th to Wawrinka’s 157th, 5-7, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (5). The match went 3 hours, 16 minutes. Wawrinka last month announced that this year would be his last on the ATP tour. “Today was a tough battle ... it’s amazing to come here for the first time, to have so much support,” Wawrinka said yesterday. “Twenty years on tour, you kind of always play in the same place
Four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka yesterday got her season off to a winning start for Japan in the United Cup, after the UK’s Emma Raducanu pulled out of their singles clash with a fitness issue, while in Brisbane, Taiwan’s Latisha Chan and Wu Fang-hsien crashed out of the women’s doubles. In Perth, despite Osaka’s win, the UK took the match 2-1 with a deciding mixed doubles victory. Osaka was too strong for reserve and 276th-ranked Katie Swan, winning 7-6 (7/4), 6-1 as Raducanu watched from the sidelines. “I’m proud of how I fought,” Osaka said. “I’d never played here, it was tough.” Britain
