"Essentially, we can squeeze the horse in," Durenberger said. "That helps him with his balance when he's transported. It's especially helpful when you have a situation like Barbaro's, where he was transferred on the highway and didn't just go back to the barn. When horses travel, they stand base wide on all four legs, and they want to balance on all four legs. You don't want them rocking around in a trailer."
