Jason Roberts scored in the 29th minute of extra time on Tuesday, a goal that put Wigan into the League Cup final despite a 2-1 loss to Arsenal.
Wigan won the first leg two weeks ago 1-0.

Wigan goalkeeper Mike Pollitt kept his club in the match.
After Wigan defender Stephane Henchoz was called for a handball, Jose Antonio Reyes was stopped on a penalty in the 22nd when Pollitt dived to his left to get both hands on Reyes's spot kick.
Pollitt also stopped Henry several times on diving saves before the Frenchman scored.

"Paul Scholes has a medical condition affecting the vision in his right eye," Manchester United said in a statement. "This has been confirmed by a number of specialists, who have all agreed that he needs to rest for a period of three months."
