Henin-Hardenne had little trouble against the 154th-ranked Tunisian, who appeared nervous in the first set, winning only one game courtesy of two double faults on deuce at 3-0.
Sfar managed to break the top seed in the opening game of the second set and made it 2-0 with a nicely judged drop volley.
Henin-Hardenne saved a break point with a fierce serve to Sfar's forehand and clinched the game with a well-executed backhand volley winner down the line.
Williams broke Molik once in each set en route to her victory.
"I feel really blessed that I was able to do that today," said Williams, who returned to the WTA circuit at the Australian Open after a six-month injury layoff.
Williams will face Svetlana Kuznetsova in the quarterfinals. The Russian beat Anca Barna of Germany 6-4, 6-3 in the second round.
Capriati, also coming back from injury, saved three match points at 5-3 in the second set before succumbing to Daniilidou in her first match of the season.
It was Daniilidou's first victory in four matches against Capriati.

Carraz played a strong game, serving 27 aces while double-faulting four times. He said Ferrero forced him to remain concentrated on each ball.
"It helped me having played him in Bangkok last year," Carraz said.

Revelations of positive doping tests for nearly two dozen Chinese swimmers that went unpunished sparked an intense flurry of accusations and legal threats between the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the head of the US drug-fighting organization, who has long been one of WADA’s fiercest critics. WADA on Saturday said it was turning to legal counsel to address a statement released by US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) CEO Travis Tygart, who said WADA and anti-doping authorities in China swept positive tests “under the carpet by failing to fairly and evenly follow the global rules that apply to everyone else in the world.” The

Yang defeated three opponents on Saturday to reach the final after receiving a bye through the round of 32. He first topped Laotian Soukphaxay Sithisane in the round of 16 with two seoi nage (over-the-shoulder throws), then ousted Indian Vijay Kumar Yadav in the quarter-finals with his signature ude hishigi sankaku gatame (triangular armlock).
