Horserace mixup sees 14 out for taking wrong turn

AP , LUDLOW, ENGLAND

A horserace descended into farce on Thursday when half the field of 14 was disqualified for taking the wrong course.

The field split into three after they were instructed to miss out a fence on their second circuit to avoid an injured jockey during the 3.2km Tanners Claret Juvenile Novices' Selling Hurdle at Ludlow.

While Claire Stretton received treatment after falling from Mizinsky at the first fence, three of the runners decided to run on the outside, some of the field made their way to the nearby chase course and the remainder ran round the inside of the fence.
